Frequently asked questions

What do you mean by "static pages"?

Static pages are just plain HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. There is no Content Management System (CMS) or database to deliver dynamic content. Changes and updates require editing the code directly.

When will my site go live?

It depends on your project, specific needs, and how quickly you can provide the material or information we need. However, the average small business website can take 2-6 weeks from start to finish.

Do I own my website?

No. Fawks Software Consulting LLC will retain all copyrights, excluding any material you provide, to the website and will host the website on our servers.

This is how we keep costs down. However, you may purchase the copyright from us at an additional cost.

Can you make an e-commerce or membership site?

Contact us to discuss this project. An e-commerce or membership site is outside the scope of a basic trade website, and we will need to understand the full scope of work and what you're trying to build.

Can my website integrate with any other services?

It depends on the service. Feel free to contact us with the service you're interested in, and we will do some research to see if it is possible.

Is my site backed up?

Your website code is hosted on GitHub, which will keep track of all the changes and provide a backup of all the code.

Since there is no database, the only thing backed up is the code.

Do the unused consulting hours roll over?

No. The 2 hours are guaranteed hours for the month for us to help answer any IT and software questions you may have.

What is covered in the consulting?

The consulting hours are there for us to help solve quick IT problems that can be solved in the 2-hour window. This may include, but is not limited to:

• asking questions about software or anything IT related,
• help research an app or software for a given use case,
• help come up with a solution to solve a quick problem,
• and more.

How much input do I have?

A lot. We are designing for your brand, and we want you to love it! We greatly value your input, feedback, and approval at every stage of the process.

How do I pay?

All invoices can be paid online with a debit card, credit card, or ACH transfer.

For a lump-sum project, I require a non-refundable down payment before starting the project. The remaining amount is due upon the final review of the website before launch and domain pointing.

You'll be billed monthly or yearly for a subscription plan and the hosting add-on. You can cancel at any time with advanced notice before your next billing period.

What is included in unlimited updates?

The unlimited updates include changes to existing text or media, i.e., the content of the website. For example, content updates could include, but are not limited to:

• Editing or revising text (copy)
• Adding or removing media
• Adding, removing, or editing services
• Modifying pricing or business hours
• Updating contact information or address details

Content updates don't include, but are not limited to, design work, copywriting, SEO, publishing new blog posts, integrations, or adding features, which would require a separate discussion and billing.

What is included in your Guarantee?

We take the time to learn about your business, and if you have any ideas or concepts you would like to see. We will design a website based on your brand. If we miss the mark and you don't love the design, we will do another design for free based on your input.

What is included in the 90-day Warranty?

Before we publish your website, we will run some tests to ensure the website looks great and works on the latest devices and browsers. However, if we missed something, then we will fix it for free during that time. The warranty only covers fixing bugs and issues.

If you need any content updates, that will require a different discussion and billing if you selected the Lump Sum plan; bug fixes and content updates are included in the Monthly plan.
